Forged in the philosophy of Kaihōgyō — the 1,000-year practice of Japan's Marathon Monks — this is not a course. It is a pilgrimage of professional becoming. Radical. Sustained. Irreversible.

The Ancient Foundation
For over 1,000 years, the Marathon Monks of Mount Hiei have circled a sacred mountain — walking and running 24,000 miles over seven years in pursuit of enlightenment. They call it Kaihōgyō: the practice of circling the mountains.
The 10-X Career Transformation Programme is built on this exact philosophy. Your career is the mountain. Each module is a sacred station. Each week of practice, a circuit completed. You do not climb once and descend — you circle, deepen, and transform with every pass.
Unlike conventional programmes that deliver content and leave you to apply it, this journey demands your full presence. Like the gyoja (spiritual athlete), you will face discomfort, identity crisis, and breakthrough — all by design.
You revisit core career challenges from new altitudes. Each pass reveals what was invisible before. There is no wasted ground — only deepening mastery.
Transformation is built in daily micro-actions, not heroic one-off events. The monks walk before dawn. You build before the world wakes — consistently, quietly, powerfully.
Compounding effort creates exponential results. The 10-X result is not achieved in a weekend — it emerges from sustained commitment that builds on itself, day after day.
The monks embody Fudō Myō-ō — the immovable deity. You will forge a professional identity so grounded that no external circumstance can destabilise your trajectory.
The Seven Phases
Structured like the Kaihōgyō's seven-year ascent — each phase builds on the last, increasing in depth and demand. You cannot skip a phase. The mountain knows where you've been.
Before the gyoja takes a single step, they study the sacred map. You will conduct a radical, unflinching audit of where you truly are: skills, reputation, trajectory, and the unconscious stories holding you in place.
The monk makes an irrevocable commitment before beginning. You will craft a 10-X vision so specific, so visceral, that your nervous system treats it as real. Not a goal — a vow.
The gyoja does not run randomly — they follow a precise route with sacred stations. You will identify the pivots that unlock your 10-X and build an accelerated mastery system around them.
Each station on the monk's route is an encounter with a different dimension of the sacred. Your network is a mandala of strategic relationships — each node a different axis of influence, opportunity, and growth.
At the 700th circuit, monks endure nine days without food, water, or sleep. You will enter your own crucible: a 90-day high-stakes challenge that forces you to operate at levels previously unimaginable. This is where 10-X becomes real.
In years four and five, the monks increase their daily distance dramatically. Having done the inner work, you now amplify your presence externally — building the brand, authority and influence that creates career-defining opportunities.
Those who complete the 1,000-day practice become known as ajari — master. You will architect the systems, habits, and environments that make your 10-X performance the new baseline, not a temporary peak.
The Supreme Trial
At the heart of Kaihōgyō sits the Dō-iri — nine days without food, water, or sleep. The monk must transcend the body or perish. Most never face this trial. Those who do, become living saints. Only 46 monks have completed the full 1,000-day challenge since 1885.
Your 10-X programme contains its own Dō-iri moment: a deliberately constructed 90-day challenge that takes you beyond your current identity. It will feel like career death. It will be a rebirth. This is where 10-X lives.

The System
10 interdependent growth dimensions — activated together, they produce compounding 10-X outcomes. Each is a sacred station on your Kaihōgyō route.

The Gyoja Selection
The monks do not accept every applicant. Neither do we. The 10-X journey is for those at an inflection point — ready to commit fully, not sample curiously.
Competent, respected, and stuck. You've outgrown your current ceiling but lack the framework to break through to the next level of impact and compensation.
In transition — industry shift, role change, post-redundancy. You refuse to land at the same level you left. You want to use this disruption as a 10-X launch.
Already performing well but operating at 40% of your potential. You want the radical clarity and strategy that turns good into legendary.
You've taken time away and are re-entering a changed landscape. You don't want your old career back — you want the 10-X version of what you're now capable of.
You see the leadership role clearly but can't close the perception gap. This programme gives you the strategic visibility and brand to make the invisible undeniable.
You succeeded on others' terms and paid the price. You are rebuilding — this time on your own terms, toward a fundamentally more sustainable form of mastery.
What You Earn
A crystal-clear 10-X vision with a concrete, sequenced roadmap — so specific it becomes a navigational instrument, not an aspiration.
You will no longer behave like someone becoming the person you want to be. You will embody them. Permanently.
Identify the small number of actions generating disproportionate career return — and ruthlessly eliminate everything else.
A deliberately designed network of sponsors, mentors and peers who create opportunities you cannot manufacture alone.
A personal brand so specific and evidenced that your name becomes synonymous with a valuable problem you uniquely solve.
Habits, rituals, environments and accountability structures that make peak performance automatic — your new baseline, not your best day.
The Gyoja's Invitation
The Marathon Monks don't start when conditions are perfect. They begin at 1:30am, in the dark, in all seasons. Your transformation starts at the moment of commitment — not comfort.
